The Definition for Capitalism is America

Hey! This is your wake up call!

I’m always wondering about what our decades and generation will be known for. I’m starting to think that this is where we all get wise. This is where we have the resources, and can have the knowledge to live a more free, natural, and more importantly, genuine life. That is, if we get out of our consumerism driven lives and look deep into what we often ignore but live by. We have to admit it at some point- our American social structure is ALL built on just one thing… the all-consuming media.

In my opinion- what media promotes is pathetic and really inhumane… child pornography? violence? the fact that men can’t show emotions and have to “be tough”… sounds like dehumanization. We are not only objectified but we are also turned into just consumers rather than real human beings. The human race may as well be extinct sooner than we’d think. We should be promoting more healthy living on TV, and equality and less stereotyping and less cookie cutting! There’s no wonder why there’s so much depression and violence in our world.

I think it’s important to let kids in the know as well. The newer generations of children are very techy, and since TV and pop culture is so uncensored, it’s crucial to either limit their exposure or at least tell kids how bad the media is. You may not know it but most if not all media is violent and sexual, and they may not understand what’s so bad about it but this will go into their subconscious… just like a brain wash.

One can simply just go by telling someone (more like remind them) that the media is only for consumerism and for this they use sex and violence and certain things such as creating a “social norm” to sell whatever it is; such as you have to be their version of beautiful and skinny (making you go buy crap at the store for weight loss or makeup or whatever) and how they are very (let’s call it) beauty-ist: only allowing certain women and men to be in the media creating an unrealistic body image when about 95% of the real population doesn’t have it. And that exactly what I’m telling you right now… Wake up everyone! We know this but seem to forget it when we get so “consumed”!
